INDIANA SMOKE FREE ALLIANCE (ISFA) ANNOUNCES SUPPORT OF SB1

ISFA JOINS WITH NATIONAL VAPOR TECHNOLOGY ASSOCIATION TO COMBAT MONOPOLISTIC EFFECTS OF HB 1432/PUBLIC LAW 176 AND GROW INDIANA’S SMALL BUSINESSES

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Today, the Indiana Smoke Free Alliance (ISFA) issued the following statement in support of SB1 (E-liquids). SB1 is a critical piece of legislation that will reverse the harmful, monopoly created when HB 1432 was signed into law as Public Law 176, and allow Indiana’s small vapor businesses to reopen their doors. Amy Lane, ISFA’s President, is available to the media for interviews through the contact information listed above.

“The Indiana Smoke Free Alliance is a trade group of concerned business men and women that manufacture, distribute and, or sell vapor related products. We have seen the adverse effects that the current regulations have had on small vapor businesses in Indiana. Businesses have closed, jobs have been lost, product selection has narrowed and prices have increased,” said Amy Lane, President of ISFA.

“The ISFA has been working closely with Senator Randall Head’s office in support of SB1 because we are confident this bill will fix the monopoly created when Public Law 176 took effect. It will open the borders of Indiana back to e-liquid manufacturers from across the nation, allowing consumers more choices and cheaper goods. Additionally, this bill will provide a boon to small vapor businesses, allowing 23 of the 27 previous e-liquid manufacturers to either reopen their businesses or create new ones in the great state of Indiana,” Lane said.

In addition to its support of SB1, ISFA announced that it has joined the Vapor Technology Association (VTA), the vapor industry’s premier national public policy and advocacy organization, to combat irresponsible legislation and regulations in Indiana and across the country.

“The ISFA has joined with the Vapor Technology Association to advocate for fair, safe and responsible regulations for the state of Indiana and across the nation. We have been working with VTA to craft a sound and responsible path forward for doing business in Indiana. We commend Sen. Head and Senate leadership for being committed to re-opening Indiana to responsible vapor businesses and strong competition for our growing industry.” added Lane.
